Ease Swollen Feet in Sandals

Swollen feet are more than just uncomfortable, they can be very painful no matter what the cause. Shoes that bind and constrict swelling feet can make them feel even worse. Sandals are a good option for someone that needs footwear but has the chronic problem of swelling feet.

Pregnancy is a big cause of swelling feet in women. Especially women that work in jobs that require them to sit for several hours a day. The weight of the baby will cut off circulation to the legs and the feet swell. Getting up and walking a little several times a day will help keep the swelling under control. Another way to help your body get rid of the excess water is to make sure you are adequately hydrated. It may seem crazy to drink water to get rid of swollen feet caused by water retention, but the water you drink will actually help your kidneys flush your system of the excess water.

People with diabetes are also prone to swelling of the legs and feet. Diabetes can also destroy the nerves in the legs and especially the feet and a person with diabetes may not feel the damage being done to their legs and feet through poor circulation or swelling until the damage is done.

Since shoes that bind and constrict the feet can be painful and make the problem of swelling feet even worse. Walk when you can, keep yourself adequately hydrated by drinking water and keep your feet elevated whenever possible to minimize your swelling feet. If you need to work when your feet are swelling, wear a pair of simple, adjustable thong sandals that will let your feet be unconstructed and still offer you support for your achy, swollen feet.

If you have swollen feet on a regular basis, be sure to address it with your physician, as in many cases, it's completely treatable.

The Safety of Sandals

If you want to give someone a gift but they are one of those practical types that couldn't just have a great looking pair of sandals; give them the gift of safety as well. When your give your gift recipient their new sandals, let them know how not only will they look great on their feet but they can also increase safety.

If sandals are worn after a bath or shower will minimize the chance of slipping on a tile bathroom floor. Studies show that 80% of household accidents happen in the bathroom and in the majority of cases a wet and slick bathroom floor is the culprit.

Another great place to use sandals for safety is around the pool area. Whether your gift recipient enjoys going to a public pool or has one of their own. Swimming is a great way to get good exercise and get a good cardio workout. Water splashed around the pool edge can create a slippery place to walk. Sandals with good gripping rubber soles will make it safer to walk around the pool.

Last but not least, sandals can save feet from picking up a fungal infection such as Athlete's Foot. If feet aren't touching a tile floor such as a community shower in a gym or spa, there is much less of a chance of picking up a fungal infection.

With so many great reasons to have a pair of sandals, even the most practical of gift recipents will see your financial and practical wisdom in getting them such a great looking and useful gift.

Feet Worth Dancing About

If you love to go out dancing in the warmer months, make sure that your feet look their sexy best in your sandals.

Before you slip your tootsies into a new pair of sandals, make sure your feet look worth noticing. If giving yourself a pedicure isn't part of your regular personal grooming routine, make it part of it and you'll find you soon have feet that are turning heads.

You can get a personal pedicure routine down to about fifteen minutes a week if you address any trouble spots you may have let go on your feet. First of all gather the things you'll need, you don't want to walking around looking for where you left the pumice stone with a dripping wet foot. The only items you'll need are a small tub for soaking feet, a couple of towels, pumice stone, Epsom salts or foot soak (your choice), moisturizing lotion.

Run the warmest water you can tolerate in a small tub and then soak your feet for 5-10 minutes. It's easy to soak one foot and then while you're working on the foot you just soaked, soak your other foot.

Rub the pumice stone gently over callouses and rough spots on your feet. Don't rub too hard, the idea is to just remove the rough spots. Never rub so hard you break open the skin on your foot, it could lead to a nasty infection and you definitely do not want that! After you work on your feet, pat them dry with a towel and then apply lotion. This will help your feet stay moisturized.
Once you get the sexy feet you were born to show off, treat yourself to a new pair of sandals and gather your favorite group of friends and go out for a night of dancing, your feet were made to be noticed!
