Accessories for Your Summer Whites

If you have your hair done just right, your favorite summer whites on, you can cap off your great look with some bright accessories.

Accent your hair with brightly colored barrettes or if you live in a hot and humid area, you'll prefer to have your hair up if you haven't already opted for a sassy short hairstyle. Brightly colored pony tail wrappers work wonders at holding even the most unruly hair up and since most come with a flexible plastic or cloth wrapping around the rubber, you don't have to worry about the wrapper breaking your hair or tangling within your mane.

Another great way to set off your summer whites and make your skin look even more luscious is to wear a white pair of sandals. White sandals will draw the attention of the eye to your feet so make sure your feet look great by using a good moisturizer regularly and pamper your piggies!

A brightly colored scarf wrapped around your waist, especially one that matches an equally bright purse such as the Roxy Barbados Train Case will just complete your fun summer look. This fun train case is sturdy and comes in an orange, pink and white islander print or bright pink with contrasting khaki, red, and white trims. The double zipper closure ensures the items that you want to stay in the purse - stay in and in addition to the zippers there's a fun, oversized buckle on the front of the purse.

Use these ideas to go summer white and accessorize with the bright colors of the season!

Keeping Cool in the Summer

It's going to be 90 degrees today, you don't have air conditioning and you don't live near the beach? You can still keep your cool by doing a few things that will keep the cool air in your house and keep the heat out. You can also use these tips if you have an absolutely scary electrical bill from running your air conditioning almost constantly.

First of all, open your house in the early morning hours and let the cool air in. When you see the temperature start to rise, start watching it and normally about 9:00AM you need to close your windows and this includes dropping the drapes on any window the sun is shining in on. If you have a window on an area in your house that is covered in shade, leave it open as long you feel a cool breeze coming in.

Next, opt for light clothing. Light colors and light fabrics preferably in 100% cottons will help keep you cool. Wear clothing styles that are not tightly form fitting, you want air to circulate around your body. Comfortable, flowing dresses, light skirts and lightweight cotton shirts and shorts are good bets. If you haven't already opted for a short hairstyle, pull your hair up off your neck and back in a ponytail or bun.

Ditch your regular shoes and opt for a barely there pair of sandals, with leather uppers and skip anything plastic as it will trap your body heat around your feet. Sandals with a padded footbed will cushion every step you take and you can keep your feet cool and comfy.

Stay hydrated and drink lots of water. Tea and coffee, although made primarily of water, can actually dehydrate you so make sure you drink plain water if you are drinking a lot of iced coffees or teas. In most areas the hottest part of the day will occur around 6:00PM to 7:00PM in the summer, after that you can open your windows and let the cool air in and keep your house cool this summer.

Use these tips to keep your cool during these summer months and have a lower electric bill next month!

Earth Sandals - Healthy Living

Earth has been in the business of selling shoes since the early 1970's and they are still a family owned company. They took a backseat and started manufacturing shoes for other companies and then the Earth Shoes line was re-launched in the 1990's and is still the same company committed to be environmentally and socially responsible. They even launched a line of shoes that were approved by the National Vegan Society.

These sandals have come a long way from the wooden soled early incarnations from the 1970's. Earth Sandals have made their sandals modern and stylish. The Amanda design is a sharp looking pair of sandals that will look great with shorts, a short and sassy mini skirt or a dress. They can go straight from the office to a fun night out. They have a butter soft leather strap that is gathered in the middle and seated on a platform base. As with all Earth Sandals, they have the Kalso Negative Heel technology that is a little raised in the front of the shoe and it encourages a more natural way of walking when you wear a pair of Earth Sandals.

Most wearers experience less fatigue; better posture and it will lessen lower back pain in most individuals. The soft footbed will mold to the individual contours of your foot and just to make these shoes even more comfortable for walking and standing, they have the shock absorbing Gelron2000 midsole for impact protection, walking on hard floors will no longer make your feet tired!
Earth Sandals also takes the frequent traveler into mind and with this design there is no metal midbar within the shoe to set off the metal detectors. If leaving your shoes on is an option at the airport line, now you can and no more walking barefoot on the icky airport floor.

Earth Sandals have come a long way since the 1970's and they continue to be a stylish and healthy choice for your feet!

Sexy Feet in Sexy Sandals

If you're going to be showing off your feet this summer make sure they look their very best and give yourself a regular pedicure and you will have feet that are the envy of everyone.

Remove any nail polish on your toenails before beginning. Then soak your feet in warm water for about 10 minutes, add Epsom salts or you can make your own foot soak by combining warm water with fresh sprigs of rosemary (roll between your hands to release the oils and aroma before putting the sprigs in warm water), add three drops of each of the following essential oils: cedarwood to relieve aches and pains, lavender for its fresh scent and anti-inflammatory qualities and tea tree oil which has strong fungicidal and antiseptic properties.

Clip your toenails straight across using a toenail clipper or scissors especially for this purpose. Push back your cuticles if necessary. If you have any rough edges on your nails, file them off gently using the nail file in one direction only. If you have dry patches on your feet, use an loofah or pumice stone on roughened areas and after getting rid of any dead skin or roughness,- moisturize - moisturize - moisturize!

Next, separate your toes. Use cotton balls between your toes or use a ready-made device for keeping the toes apart. Apply the nail polish of your choice to your toenails and let it dry. Add one more coat and allow to dry, and then add a clear topcoat. If you have any stray polish on your toes, just wipe off with a cotton swab dipped in nail polish remover.

Top off your sexy new feet with an equally sexy pair of sandals and you're ready to go out for a night of summer fun!

Havianas -Some Simple Beginnings Comes Great Style!

The Havaianas sandals were once just the plain shoes of the simple folk in Brazil. They were the shoe of choice among the housekeepers, laborers, fieldworkers and other people who needed long lasting shoes but couldn't afford expensive footwear.

The uncomplicated yet very functional design of the Havaianas shoes were first designed in the early 1960's and were inspired by the footwear worn by Japanese field workers. The name comes from the Portuguese word for Hawaiians and was selected, as Hawaii was the place most Americans were vacation bound at the time.

Fast forward to the present and these sandals have left Brazil and are now a brand known throughout the world for their comfort, durability and style. Actress Sandra Bullock made a splash when she wore a pair of Havaianas with an evening gown to a Tinsel Town bash.

The real attitude change came in the mid-1990's when the Havaianas were redesigned to be more than a durable sandal and they became a fashion statement coming in dozens of hot designs and colors. Complete with floral designs and crystals placed decoratively on the straps. The basic make-up of the sandal was unchanged as they are already exceedingly comfortable with their buttery soft rubber soles that is made with a synthetic rubber and is exclusive to the Havaianas design. This paid off big time as the popularity of the new styles spread and more and more designs were created as the line expanded and today, there is truly a Havaianas sandal for everyone's taste.
