Don't Wait to Make that New Year's Resolution
You can breath a sigh of relief now that colder weather is coming, it's easier to hide those extra pounds under coats and sweaters than in the clingy, sheer summer styles. You had good intentions, you really did; and you wanted to lose those extra pounds you packed on due to your break up with your boyfriend, the promotion you didn't get or just love of fast food and dislike of exercise.
You steadfastly made a resolution to work out every day and you went at it with gusto and then every day become every other day and then your work out fell to being about three times a week then once a week and then it was a completely past tense scenario "I used to work out".
You didn't gain that extra weight all at once so you won't knock it off either, especially if you're a little older and your metabolism isn't as speedy as it once was. However, get the okay from your doctor and hit the gym. Don't overwhelm yourself. Make a schedule you know you can stick with. Three days a week is sufficient for most people and make it easy on yourself by keeping your work out gear in your car. No excuses ever.
Use a small bag like a
Puma bag and fit your shoes, clothing and other necessities you need (no, the Snickers Bar isn't part of your work out gear). Really make an effort to stick to your schedule. Do ten minutes of warm up stretching and then work out steadily for 15 minutes and then do 10 minutes of cooling down. As your stamina increases, increase the times of your work out.
You will see gradual positive changes in your body and if you want to really jump start the process, forget fast food exists and if bring your lunch and eat dinner at home you can really watch your portion sizes and hidden fats and sugars. Use these tips to get yourself going and you'll be sporting a hot new body when summertime rolls around next year!
