The Bernardo name is one that means high style. The company was formed in the late 1940s by Bernard Rudofsky with the intent on manufacturing better made footwear for women and handbags. Until August 2006, the Bernardo designers Dennis and Lynne Comeau lived in Florence, Italy; then in August 2006 they relocated to Sante Fe, New Mexico where they are still designing each sandal and handbag to be the height of style and fashion as well as being very functional.
The number one design from Bernardo was it's famous "Miami" style sandal which catapulted their name to the forefront of the fashion pages when trendsetters such as Jackie Onassis and Lilly Pulitzer were spotted wearing these sandals.
